LacombeWeb Design
Your next customer is deciding between you and somebody in Red Deer, and they are deciding on a phone. Websites built to win that moment.
The Twenty-Five Minute Problem
Almost every Lacombe business competes, whether it wants to or not, with a larger version of itself down the QEII. The customer weighing you against them is rarely standing in front of either shop. They are on a phone, on the couch, deciding whether the drive is worth it — and they are deciding from whatever your website tells them.
That is a solvable problem, and it is mostly not a design problem. It is a question of whether your site answers the things that decide it: what you actually carry or do, what it costs, whether you are open, how long it takes, and whether anyone will pick up if they call. We build sites around those answers first and make them look good second.
One Person, on 46 Street
Lacombe Web Design is one person, working out of an office on 46 Street. There is no account manager, no ticket queue and no discovery workshop. You explain the business to whoever is going to build the site, once, and then that same person builds it.
Being in town rather than on a video call matters more than it sounds. Most of our conversations start because somebody passed our name along, so the reference has already done the selling and the meeting is really about whether we understand your trade — which is a much easier thing to establish sitting across a table. Come here, or we will come to you.

Lacombe and the Towns Around It
We work across the middle of the corridor — Lacombe first, then Blackfalds, Ponoka and Red Deer. Four towns that share a highway and almost nothing else commercially: what wins a customer in Ponoka, where a business may be the only one of its kind for thirty kilometres, is not what wins one in Red Deer, where there are nine.
If your customers come from the county rather than the town, that changes what the site has to say and where it has to say it. We would rather build one page that is specific about the area you genuinely cover than a dozen thin ones naming every hamlet within an hour.
— Why us
How We Work
Answers before atmosphere
Hours, prices, what you actually stock, how long the wait is. A beautiful site that hides the one fact somebody needed has still lost you the sale.
One person, start to finish
The person who takes your first call does the design, writes the pages and answers the email eighteen months later.
Fast on a bad connection
Plenty of your customers are reading this from a truck outside town on two bars. Pages are built light enough to load there.
Written so you can defend it
We do not put a claim on your site you would not make out loud to a customer standing in front of you.
Straight answers
What does a website cost in Lacombe?
It depends on how many pages you need and how much of the writing falls to us, so we quote after a conversation rather than from a menu. What we can tell you up front is that the estimate is written down, it covers the whole build, and if the scope changes you hear about it before the work happens rather than on the invoice.
How long before it is live?
Usually a few weeks. The part that sets the pace is almost never the building — it is how quickly we can get photographs, prices and answers out of you. Businesses that block out two hours in week one tend to launch about twice as fast as the ones that answer questions between jobs.
My site is not broken, it is just old. Is that worth fixing?
Often yes, and often for less than a rebuild. An older site that loads slowly on a phone or buries your phone number is losing you enquiries quietly, which is the hard kind to notice. We can look at what you have and tell you honestly whether it needs replacing or just needs the top third of every page fixed.
Can a Lacombe business actually compete with the Red Deer ones online?
For the searches that matter to you, yes. You are not trying to outrank a Red Deer competitor for everything — you are trying to be the obvious answer for people who would rather not make the drive, and for the ones already closer to you than to them. That is a much smaller fight and a much more winnable one.
Will it work properly on a phone?
Yes, and we check it on a real one rather than by shrinking a browser window. Most people will meet your business on a phone first, often on a weak signal outside town, so that is the version we design for and the desktop layout follows from it.
Tell Us What You Are Up Against
A conversation about what your customers ask before they buy costs nothing and usually makes the rest obvious.
