Websites ThatAnswer the Question

Most small-business sites look fine and still lose the sale. Usually because the one fact that decided it was never on the page.

What Actually Loses You the Enquiry

Somebody has your business open on their phone and a competitor in another tab. They are not comparing colour schemes. They are trying to find out whether you do the specific thing they need, roughly what it costs, whether you are open, and how quickly you could get to them. Whichever tab answers first usually wins, and it is astonishing how often neither does.

So we start with the questions rather than the layout. What do customers phone up and ask? What do they consistently get wrong about what you offer? Which job would you like more of, and which would you rather stop getting? Those answers decide what the pages are and what goes at the top of each one. The design comes afterwards, and it is easier once the content is settled.

A hand-drawn page wireframe on a spiral sketchpad, with a pen and a phone on a wooden desk.

What a Build Includes

A small site done properly beats a large one padded out to look substantial. We would rather write six pages you can defend than twenty nobody reads.

Structure worked out first

Which pages exist, what each one is for, and what a visitor sees before scrolling. Get this wrong and no amount of styling rescues it.

The writing

We draft the pages from what you tell us and you correct them. Reacting to a draft is far easier than filling a blank page, and it is your trade, not ours.

Built for a phone on two bars

Designed at phone size first and kept light, because a good part of your audience is reading it from a truck outside town.

Findable from day one

Clean page structure, honest titles and descriptions, and the technical groundwork search engines need. Not an add-on — just building it properly.

What a Website Costs

ServiceEstimated costAverage
New small-business websiteQuoted on scopeAfter one conversation
Rebuild of an existing siteQuoted on scopeVaries with what is salvageable
Refresh rather than rebuildQuoted on scopeOften the cheaper right answer

We do not publish ranges, because a range wide enough to cover both a four-page site and a twenty-page one tells you nothing. Describe the job and you get a real number, written down, at no charge — and if the scope changes later you hear about it before the work happens rather than on the invoice.

Why Work With Us

One person, all the way through

Nobody hands your project to somebody else after the first meeting, because there is nobody else to hand it to.

We will talk you out of things

If a smaller site would do the job, that is what we will recommend. It is a worse quote and a better outcome.

You can leave

You own the site. If you want to take it to another developer we hand over what they need without making it difficult.

How the Build Runs

  1. 01

    Questions

An hour, mostly about your customers rather than your website. What they ask, what they misunderstand, which work you want more of.

  2. 02

    Structure

We agree the pages, what each is for, and what sits above the fold. Cheapest possible moment to change your mind.

  3. 03

    Words

Drafts for you to correct. You will find wrong sentences about your own trade in seconds.

  4. 04

    Design and build

Real pages with your real content in them, not a mockup full of placeholder text.

  5. 05

    Launch

It goes live, and we stay reachable for the small things that always surface in the first fortnight.
